Clinical DataFax Systems Inc. Announces iDataFax
iDataFax (electronic data capture) works seamlessly with DataFax (fax data capture) allowing both methods to be used in the same study.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 18, 2006 -- Clinical DataFax Systems Inc. (CDSI) announced today their entry into the electronic data capture (EDC) software market with the iDataFax client software package.

"We have been delivering high quality fax-based solutions to our clients worldwide for over 14 years," says Wayne Taylor, CEO of CDSI. "Our latest product is a continuation of our endeavor to provide a comprehensive and efficient set of tools for clinical trial data management. Our clients can now use fax, EDC, or both in the same study, decide which is best suited to a given clinic or individual, and switch from one method to the other at any time."

iDataFax is a software application that allows the user to enter, review and modify patient data; add reasons to explain data values; and reply to queries from the study coordinating center, using a secure connection over the internet.

iDataFax works in concert with CDSI's flagship product, DataFax. Says Taylor: "Not everyone has access to reliable, high-speed data communications. This new product will allow a clinical trial sponsor to select the best method of data collection on an individual basis. In many situations, fax-based data collection is still an important methodology, with clear advantages over EDC. Giving our clients the ability to mix and match technologies removes a huge barrier to the adoption of EDC in large international trials, and provides a fax fallback alternative if EDC proves unworkable in a given situation."
