Training
Clinical DataFax Systems offers the following training courses:

Additional Information
All courses are held at the offices of Clinical DataFax Systems in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Course are only offered for the most recent version of DataFax, which is currently DataFax 4.0, released December 02, 2009.
The course fee is US$500/day which includes a course workbook and lunch(es).
All courses include hands-on exercises for which a laptop is required. Before the start of the course, students should download to their laptops the current version of the client applications (iDataFax, DFsetup, DFsystem).
Each course day runs from 8:30am - 5:00pm.
To Register
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis (by date of receipt of courses fee payment) and is limited to 10 students per course. Up to 5 additional registrations will be kept on a waiting list.
To reserve a spot in one or more courses, print the registration form, and fax it to Clinical DataFax Systems at 905 522 7284. The registration will be confirmed when payment of the course fees is received.
Payment can be made by cheque or direct deposit. We are unable to process credit card registrations - sorry
Cancellation Policy
The following cancellation policy applies to all training courses. Cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the course are 100% refunded. Except in the case of a documented medical emergency, cancellations made between 14 and 30 days prior to the course are subject to a 50% penalty, and cancellations within 14 days of the course are subject to a 100% penalty.
Clinical DataFax Systems reserves the right to cancel a course should there be insufficient registration.
Discounts for not-for-profit organizations
Attendees that are employed by not-for-profit organizations are entitled to a 50% discount on their training fees.
Hotel Accommodations
Located in a shopping/office complex across two streets from the office of CDSI (about a block away in walking distance).
Located only a few blocks from the office of CDSI. This is a residential-style hotel for extended-stay guests.
A small hotel in the west end of Hamilton, near McMaster University. It is a short drive or bus ride to the CDSI offices.

Course Descriptions
Study Setup
This 2-day course provides instruction in DataFax case report form design, study setup and testing. The course includes hands-on exercises demonstrating suggested techniques.
Intended Audience
The course is intended for clinical trials professionals who play a role in the design, logistical planning and setup of new studies. A working knowledge of the DataFax Validation and Reports Tools is essential. Knowledge of Framemaker or a similar desktop publishing package used in form design is an asset. Attendees must have read the DataFax Study Planning Guide and Chapter 2 - Setup Tool in the DataFax User's Guide prior to attending the course.

Edit Checks
This 2-day course teaches the basic fundamentals of the Edit Checks language and includes many hands-on exercises demonstrating the concepts.
Intended Audience
The course is intended for computer professionals who will be programming edit checks and who have had previous programming experience.

System Administration
This 1-day course teaches DataFax and UNIX concepts from a system administrator's perspective. Good practices for preventative maintenance, ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting are taught. Documentation principles for all administrative activities are also covered.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for DataFax professionals or UNIX system administrators who are already comfortable with UNIX terminology, shell commands, and editors. Each student is expected to be familiar with the content of the DataFax System Administrator's Guide.
