Clinical DataFax Systems offers the following training courses:

All courses are held at the offices of Clinical DataFax Systems in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Course are only offered for the most recent version of DataFax, which is currently DataFax 3.8.3 released May 30, 2008.
The course fee is US$500/day which includes a course workbook and lunch(es).
Each course day runs from 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis (by date of receipt of courses fee payment) and is limited to 10 students per course. Up to 5 additional registrations will be kept on a waiting list.
To reserve a spot in one or more courses, print the registration form, and fax it to Clinical DataFax Systems at 905 522 7284. The registration will be confirmed when payment of the course fees is received.
Payment can be made by cheque or direct deposit. We are unable to process credit card registrations - sorry
The following cancellation policy applies to all training courses. Cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the course are 100% refunded. Except in the case of a documented medical emergency, cancellations made between 14 and 30 days prior to the course are subject to a 50% penalty, and cancellations within 14 days of the course are subject to a 100% penalty.
Clinical DataFax Systems reserves the right to cancel a course should there be insufficient registration.
Attendees that are employed by not-for-profit organizations are entitled to a 50% discount on their training fees.

Room rate: $199 Canadian, and up, plus 12% taxes, for a non-smoking room, single or double occupancy.

This 2-day course teaches the fundamentals of using FrameMaker for creating case report forms. This differs from other FrameMaker training courses in that it focuses on features specific to designing forms for DataFax. Attendees will be taught proven approaches for improving the efficiency and overall design of DataFax case report forms.
This course is intended for clinical trials professionals responsible for the design and production of DataFax case report forms. Attendees are encouraged to be familiar with the basic use of FrameMaker before attending the course.
There is a brief, written test at the end of the course.
$US 1000 (+ 5% GST)
This 2-day course provides instruction in DataFax case report form design, study setup and testing. The course includes hands-on exercises demonstrating suggested techniques.
The course is intended for clinical trials professionals who play a role in the design, logistical planning and setup of new studies. A working knowledge of the DataFax Validation and Reports Tools is essential. Knowledge of Framemaker or a similar desktop publishing package used in form design is an asset. Attendees must have read the DataFax Study Planning Guide and Chapter 2 - Setup Tool in the DataFax User's Guide prior to attending the course.
There is a brief, written test at the end of the course.

This 1-day course teaches the basic fundamentals of the Edit Checks language syntax. The course includes many hands-on exercises demonstrating the concepts.
The course is intended for computer professionals who will be programming edit checks and who have had little or no exposure to programming.
There is a brief, written test at the end of the course.
$US 500 (+ 5% GST)
This 2-day course teaches advanced Edit Check application concepts and problem solving. The course includes many hands-on exercises demonstrating the concepts. Students are invited to submit example problems prior to attending the course.
The course is intended for computer professionals who will be programming Edit Checks as well as clinical staff who will be specifying the Edit Checks. Students are expected to have successfully completed the Edit Check Language course or equivalent, and that each student will be familiar with the Edit Checks chapter and tutorial in the DataFax documentation.
There is a brief, written test at the end of the course.
$US 1000 (+ 5% GST)
This 1-day course teaches DataFax and UNIX concepts from a system administrator's perspective. Good practices for preventative maintenance, ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting are taught. Documentation principles for all administrative activities are also covered.
This course is intended for DataFax professionals or UNIX system administrators who are already comfortable with UNIX terminology, shell commands, and editors. Each student is expected to be familiar with the content of the DataFax System Administrator's Guide.
There is a brief, written test at the end of the course.
