2009 DataFax User Group Meeting
DataFax is a true hybrid Fax and EDC system, using the same study setup, database, reports, and study management tools regardless of how the data is collected.
For studies using paper case report forms (CRFs)
DataFax can receive CRFs faxed from the clinical sites,
scan each page, identify the study, read the data fields,
populate the appropriate database tables, and save the new data records
and CRF images for split-screen review by data management staff at the study
coordinating center.
Why use Fax?
How does it work?
iDataFax - Fax View
For studies using EDC the clinical sites can
enter, review and modify patient data,
add reasons to explain data values, and reply to queries from the study coordinating center,
using iDataFax which provides a secure connection over the internet.
Why use EDC?
How does it work?
iDataFax - Data View
DataFax makes it possible to choose the data collection
method best suited to an individual investigator, clinical site, or patient assessment,
and to easily switch from one method to the other if that proves desirable or necessary.

Why use both?
