iDataFax is designed using the analogy of patient binders containing CRF pages nested within patient assessments or visits .

Data View Features:

  • Status icons and color coding for each patient, assessment, page, and data field identify overdue visits, incomplete records, outstanding queries and invalid values.
  • Data screens match the paper version of each CRF page, providing a familiar interface, similar to completing paper forms.
  • Features designed to aid complete and accurate data entry include:
    • color coding (red=illegal or missing, green=fixed, blue=outstanding query, yellow=optional, orange=pending review)
    • field level help messages displayed at the bottom of the screen
    • edit checks on record and field entry and exit
  • Meta-data can be associated with each data field including:
    • queries created by study management staff or edit checks
    • reasons created by the clinical sites to explain unusual values
    • missing value codes (for non-essential fields only)
  • To save new data entry or corrections the user saves the record by selecting 'Final' if the record is complete and 'Incomplete' or 'Pending' if the record contains invalid values or outstanding data queries.
